At the end of October 2021, we were sent by our Lord to Lithuania.

I am from Putten (the Netherlands) and my wife is from Lithuania. We met in Ireland where I was a fisherman at sea for 20 years. Several times I was told, you will be a fisherman of people.

We did not want to go to Lithuania, but over a period of 3 years our hearts softened.

When we came to Lithuania we first spent a year working in and around our house. The first year we had no sewer and running water, this is very common in rural Lithuania. Fortunately, now we do have sewage and running water. The difference in price in real estate fortunately allowed us to get rid of our mortgage.

We soon saw man's need. In the countryside there is not much work. There is a lot of poverty, depression, and alcohol abuse. We wanted to start a business, but how do you also find time for your fellow man? But it became clear to us, in Isaiah 58 it says that we should put all our time in God's hand.

So we started Vilties Inkaras (Anchor of Hope) in April 2022. In addition, we have a small farm to be self-sufficient. By taking care of people in their physical needs, we often see doors open, and may also help people in their spiritual needs. This is ultimately why we do it. To share the gospel.

In a country that has been under Russian rule several times, God and commandment have been taken away.

There is still so much work for God's Kingdom in these Baltic states.

Prayer, practical and financial help is therefore very much needed !
